Privacy Policy
calmholdem is a real time multiplayer no limit Texas hold’em game with a coach that teaches you as you play.
This page sets out our policies in relation to the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information (as defined in the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) when using the calmholdem website, apps, and related services (the Service).
If you choose to use the Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
The Service is designed to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no passwords, and no signup:
- The display name you choose, shown to the other players at your table and on the leaderboards;
- A randomly generated identifier, made by the app itself. It is not your device’s identifier and not an advertising identifier. It is kept in your keychain, which means it follows you to your other Apple devices if you use iCloud Keychain, and it is what lets the Service hold your seat and your chips when you disconnect, and recognise your results as yours from one tournament to the next;
- Your tournaments in progress, your finished results, and the decision accuracy the leaderboards are built from. These are stored in a database rather than only in memory, so that a server restart puts you back at your table with your chips and does not wipe the records.
Your choice of how much help the coach gives you is a setting on your device and at your seat; it is not shared with the other players at your table.
Log Data
Whenever you use the Service, we collect data and information called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing the Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Service Providers
We use one third party service provider, Linode, to host the Service. Linode may host your data in the United States and other countries. We do not use any other third party services, analytics, or advertising.
Cookies
The website does not use cookies. The app identifies your device with the randomly generated identifier described above, stored on your device.
Security
We use our best efforts to protect your Personal Information. All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites or services.
Children’s Privacy
These Services are not designed for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. In the case that we discover personally identifiable information in relation to children, we may immediately delete this from our servers.
Access
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you at any time, by using our contact details below. We will promptly acknowledge your request for access and let you know when we will provide you with the requested information. If we refuse access, we will provide you with a written notice which sets out (unless the law allows us not to specify a reason) the reasons for the refusal and how you can complain about our refusal. We may recover our reasonable costs for giving access to your personal information.
Correction
We seek to ensure that the personal information we hold is accurate, up-to-date, complete and, in the case of use and disclosure, relevant.
Where we believe that the information we hold is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, we will take reasonable steps to correct that information and (if you ask and it is reasonable and practicable for us to do so) to notify that correction to third parties that may have received the incorrect information from us. If you believe that information we hold about you should be corrected, you may also request that we do so, by using our contact details below.
If we do not agree with the corrections you have requested, we are not obliged to alter your personal information. Instead, we will give you a written notice which sets out (unless the law allows us not to specify a reason) the reasons for our refusal and how you can complain about our refusal. You can also ask us to associate a statement with the relevant information that puts your view that it is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We will not charge you for making a correction request, for correcting your information or for associating a statement with your information.
